Latest Christian Metal Purchases
What's the newest Christian metal CD (or vinyl or digital download or...) that you got?
My most recent purchase was Vials Of Wrath's latest EP entitled Ataraxia. It's excellent.

These came in today:
Vials of Wrath - Ataraxia
Holy Blood - Waves Are Dancing
Arvinger - Rast
I've listened to the latter two for a while, but now I actually have the physical CDs

I'm curious to hear your thoughts once you get a chance to listen to those two albums.

^Nice! Ghost Ship is a very good album; I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. Do you have Mirror Of Souls? That's my favorite of theirs.
Not quite a "purchase" [by me, anyways] but Eddie who does PR and whatnot for Parakletos very graciously bought from the band a signed copy of their latest EP for me! I can't wait until it arrives. I'm especially looking forward to hearing their Antestor cover.

Did you get your physical copy of the CD? I backed the CD ages ago and got my digital download, but still haven't seen any shipping notification for the physical CD.

No, I just bought the digital copy from Amazon. I quit buying physical copies about five years ago. Too many storage issues. I would suggest messaging Ted on Facebook. I've never had a problem with him responding.

On a Dale Thompson kick, eh?
I got from my in-laws for Christmas:
Kreyson - Noc plná hvězd - Live Třinec 2007 (live CD/DVD)
Kreyson - Přátelství (single)
The live album is great. Kreyson has been going strong for decades and they sound fantastic. The single is really excellent too. It came with the same live DVD, a band-photo poster, and two buttons - all in a ~9"x12" envelope.

Kreyson - 20 Years Of Kreyson
I never bothered getting this English-version best-of Kreyson album since I enjoy the Czech originals just fine, but I listened to some tracks on youtube and they sound quite different so I'm really looking forward to it.
That about completes my Kreyson collection, except for the especially elusive Zákon džungle. If anyone finds a reasonably priced (ideally still sealed...) CD of it, please let me know and I'll be your best friend for life.

These just came in today:
Ecthirion - Psalms of the Risen Dead
Frosthardr - Frosthardr
Apostisy - Famine of a Thousand Frozen Years
Apostisy - Blood That Covers All Sin
Nephesh - Inter Armas Silent Leges
Berith - Symphony of the Suffering
Metal Helm threw in the bottom four albums for me because that Ecthrion CD took more than a month to come in lol. It may have been closer to a month and a half. Always great to get a surprise and I know they had no control over it. I've listened to Apostisy and Nephesh before, but never Berith.

Score! Are you really digging that Ecthirion too? I've listened to a couple songs and think I may need to pick that one up in the nearish future too.
My Metal Helm order also arrived yesterday. Demoniciduth's album is quite good too. Also, major props to the lyrics, artwork, and booklet layout: all really top-notch. And I got a free goody from Jason too: a Slechtvalk At The Dawn Of War tour shirt! It's super rad.

The Ecthirion album is really good. I would describe its overall style as orchestral/symphonic metal with elements of prog and thrash. I've been waiting years for this album and I'm not disappointed. The sound overall is light and vibrant, with lots of melodies. Stringed instruments and choruses abound and a few of the longer songs are quite epic. I highly recommend it. I think you would like it.
I assume you're referring to Demoniciduth's most recent album? Enemy of Satan is one of my favorite Christian black metal albums of the past few years. I backed that one from the beginning and was well rewarded with a stellar album. In my mind I kind of view them as the second iteration of Horde, both musically and lyrically. I can't wait to see what they put out in the future.
I love shopping from Metal Helm. It's obvious that it's more than just a business for them and they always take care of the customer first. Anytime I'm able to do a preorder through them instead of elsewhere, they get first dibs. I'm sure you'll put that t-shirt to good use.

Cool; I'll pick up the Ecthirion album (and EP) soon I think.
Yup, Enemy Of Satan. It's definitely got that Horde intensity, though a bit more polished to my ears. Although I don't see much similarities in the lyrics. With a band called Demoniciduth and even the album title, I'd expect more Horde-ish "smash saten's hed" style lyrics, but was pleasantly surprised to see much more biblical and mature lyrics. They're really quite uplifting and gospel/Christ-centered - which I love.

I meant more in the approach of the lyrics. Both bands are very bold with their lyrics, which is something that I find refreshing.

Gotcha. Yes Demonicuth is very direct and bold in their lyrics which is awesome. They're also evangelical and quite hopeful (though still "metal" haha), whereas I'd describe Horde's lyrics as "anti-anti-Christian" if that makes sense. I'm with you though: it's very refreshing to hear quality Christian metal with bold and meaningful lyrics. I think there has been a bit of a resurgence of this, with bands like Renascent, Ritual Servant, Adorned Graves, and the like. (Place Of Skulls - Cornerstone is playing right now which is very bold as well.)

Re: Latest Christian Metal Purchases
I was recently blessed to have a private seller part with some pretty rare titles for a decent price:
Agathothodion - Kan Guds Gjort
Dark Procession - Ghost Echoes
Flaskavsae - In Memory
Symbiosis - Passages (wasn't familiar with this artist, it was a bonus)
Haven't had time to rip these CD's yet but THIS WEEKEND IT'S ON!!
