Jonava - Even Death Will Die (melodic blackened death metal)

This is my album of the year so far. I'm waiting to see if BTA will be able to top it. Imagine Crimson Moonlight and Extol thrown into a blender with a bit of shoegaze added in for good measure. The music is technically proficient, carries beautiful, entrancing melodies, and the screaming and sung vocals complement each other nicely. The lyrics are phenomenal. I'm still waiting on my physical copy of this masterpiece to come in. If you haven't checked this band out, I can't say enough good things about them. This album is destined to become a classic and will hopefully lead a new renaissance of Christian metal.

I really gotta do a deep dive into these guys' music then! I sampled stuff from their previous EP and remember thinking it was good, just not my style. But this new stuff sounds pretty killer...

I have the Steel Skies album as well. It's pretty good but it doesn't hold a candle to the newer stuff (at least in my opinion).

Listening some more to Steel Skies today and I think it's just the kind of album that takes multiple listens to sink in. Here's one of my favorites from the album. The riffs are pretty good.

Right on! It is indeed pretty good, though just not quite my style I think. I find myself rarely in the mood for black and death metal of the more chaotic/intense/aggressive side, but rather more dooooom, atmospheric, power, and heavy metal.
