I just listened through for the first time Musk Ox's new album that was released today. If you enjoyed their previous album Woodfall, you'll be sure to love Inheritance too. Top-notch neo-folk/chamber or whatever the proper genre is!

Ophidian I's new album Desolate is absolutely amazing. This is some of the best technical death metal I've ever heard. The lyrics are mostly scifi based. Take a listen if you like this subgenre! You won't be disappointed. This may end up being one of my favorite albums for the entire year.

^Maiden always has some fillers - and The Final Frontier is no different - but it does have some really great tunes indeed. Overall I think I like it better than The Book Of Souls, though both are far cries from A Matter Of Life And Death IMO. I'll be curious how the new one stacks up!

Bann - Die Letzten Dinge (Aeschatolog)

Bann is (was?) a German black metal band with medieval/classical elements. They're not a Christian band by any means but as far as I can tell are "Christian friendly" - their lyrics being historical. Check 'em out!

It's been a while since I've listened to this one but I've always really enjoyed it. It's melancholic black/folk/doom/post-rock and done very well.

My in-laws sent us a package and included some CDs from Slovakia's most popular metal band: Tublatanka. They have a great sound and are very enjoyable metal/rock. I recommend! This is their most recent album.
