Introduce Yourself
I thought we should re-establish this thread for our new members. Many of us already know each other, but we should let the new folks know a little about us. So, go ahead, intrduce yourself.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Great thinkin'. Sticky'd.
Well, I might as well introduce myself. I'm from Santa Cruz, California though fairly recently my wife and I escaped the ridiculousness of CA and immigrated to northern Idaho. My parents followed which is awesome. A week ago my wife Veronika gave birth to our first child, Gloria. Being a dad is truly amazing. I was raised in a Christian household and have been a Christian pretty much the entirety of my life, though God continues to grow my understanding of His greatness every day. We attend a relatively small but spectacular Reformed church. Other than metal, I enjoy hiking, shooting, good beer (in moderation, of course), and spending time with friends and family.
As for music, while I myself am not musically gifted or learned whatsoever, I love listening to it. I was introduced to Metallica in high school and was immediately blown away by the power, aggression, and passion. I then discovered Iron Maiden, power metal, and then delved into the heavier stuff. I stopped listening to Metallica due to their consistently negative and angry lyrics and as time goes on, find myself listening primarily to Christian music. My favorite genres are doom, black, and power metal. I listen to a fair bit of death and heavy metal too and generally don't really care for most thrash or anything -core (with a few exceptions).

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone!
I'm the founder of the Forum and a high school English teacher (on my sixth year). I graduated from the University of Florida. Go Gators! I'm also a big Jaguars fan. I live in Florida, where it's almost always hot and muggy. Ever since high school I've had a love for Christian metal. I'm also an aspiring writer. I have my own metal blog, Matthew's Metal, where I review music. I also write for the metal webzine Metal Utopia.

Married, three kids (!!), electrical engineer who's blessed to work out of my basement--for the time being, at least. I love me some heavy metal.
I don't care for sports, with one huge exception: sumo! Specifically professional, traditional sumo, or Grand Sumo. No, I'm not joking. Yes, the "fat guys in diapers." Interestingly, everyone who gives that as a response to my liking sumo have never actually watched it....
Maybe I'll start a thread on it. After all, the September tournament just got started, and it's looking to be a heck of a tournament.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Ok, my turn. I live in the great state of Texas. I am married, three kids (two out of high school), and I am a die hard headbanger. I am a drummer, currently not in a band. I am an electrician and, as of about six months ago, a full time student, as well. I am active with the men's ministry at my church, as this world desperately needs godly men.
Musically, I am the oddball around here, being pretty much the only member who doesn't listen to extreme metal, well very little anyway. I absolutely love thrash and power metal. I also like doom and straight up metal. I also seem to listen to a lot of foreign bands, even if they're not in English, especially from Finland and Brazil. Also, the greatness of Maltese doom metal.

My name is Robert. I currently live in Georgia with my wife and two kids. I previously lived in South Florida for 20 years. So I know hot and muggy. As some may know, I do digital art as Death Is Gain and record music under Warpriest. I'm mainly here to annoy Kerrick.

That last sentence had me dying. I'm pretty sure that's why we are all here, right? I think I may have listened to some of your music a few years ago, but I'm not sure. Do you have any links or a place to start? Interested in checking it out.

Re: Introduce Yourself
I'm Aloísio, a 25 year-old Brazilian self-taught in English (I want to thank Chrono Trigger for being my teacher hahahaha). I've been living in Cascavel, Paraná, for 8 years. I've lived in other 7 other cities, for my dad is a pastor and he was he is the kind of pastor who helps starting/raising a new church.
I'm an English as Foreign Language teacher for preschoolers and primary education. I'm attending a post-graduation course regarding English teaching as general content (culture, movies, songs, history). As hobby, I like to write reflections on songs I like, and then posting in my blog, which is in Portuguese (though I'm really thinking about writing in English as well).
I attend to Presbyterian Church of Brazil (the one the missionary Ashbel Green Simonton established back in 1862). In my church I play the bass, sometimes teach children (when I'm not playing) during our Saturdays' service (which is the youth meeting), and teach adolescents on Sunday schools. I also am leader of a small group (Célula, which can be literally translated to "Cell"), which discuss what the pastor preached on Sunday night service.
I was introduced to heavy music in the beginning of 2000s, with Tourniquet. My brother used to listen to Guardian and Bride, but when I first heard "You Get What You Pray For", I really knew what I wanted. Nowadays I'm really into progressive, death and classic rock, but never forgetting my roots.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Good day everyone! I'm a 33 year old cheese packer, who accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of 12, and I became a Christian metal head at the age of 15 when I listened to my first Mortification CD "Hammer of God". I am also a huge Godzilla, plus I am a licensed ham radio operator. My callsign is KD9LVR, just in case there are any fellow hams on this forum.

Thanks! For metal, I also enjoy doom, some thrash, some black metal here and there, deathcore, and metalcore. Actually, I usually find a little something in each metal sub genre that I like. As for music in general, I also like rock, jazz, and polka music believe it or not.

Excellent! Yeah, I definitely do not have a problem of running out of music to listen to. I think the only genres that I don't care for is modern top 40 pop and mainstream rap.

Greetings! Deepfriar told me about this place. I'm interested primarily in Christian black metal but I also like power metal (and would like to discover more bands) and industrial stuff. I'm a 20-year-old college student. Glad to be here.
