Darkwater - Humans

Darkwater will be releasing their new album, entitled Humans, on March 1. Judging by the first track, it should be a pretty good album.

This is one of those bands I've tried getting into a few times and for some reason they just never click with me, even though all the elements are there. Maybe one of these days they'll click and I'll snatch up all their albums.

I actually pre-ordered this one a couple days ago, I been listening to more progressive power metal stuff lately...I'll let you know if it's good when it comes in sometime in March

I'm not sure where you're getting that. I own this album and I interpret the lyrics very differently. Most of the lyrics are about someone who is struggling or has lost a loved one, but ultimately overcomes their feelings of depression.  For example, lines like this:


You can run and you can hide
But remember you only have one life
Never take for granted

Also, here is another example of moving from darkness into the light:

Into your dreams
Into the sunrise
I will always be there for you
Out of the dark
Far from the shadows
I have finally found my way back home

And finally, here's another:

I will fly!
Into the light of dawn, leave where I hide
Try to find a way to break this cage
Time to emerge!


While the band isn't explicitly Christian, most of the imagery seems to deal with overcoming depression and darkness and finding new purpose in life.
