Epic Returns From Long Silence

For whatever reason, it seems like this year there have been numerous announcements of bands reforming/releasing new material after years of silence. The biggest one for me is Virgin Black: TEN YEARS of absolute silence and now we're finally going to get to hear Pianissimo and maybe even new material.

Parakletos are back with a new EP after 14 years of nothing. They're working on a full-length too!

Sardonyx released a new album earlier this year. Their previous release was also from 14 years ago (which came 12 years after their debut).

Northern Flame released their debut album min 2014 after 9 years of nothing. And they're working on new material now which I'm stoked to hear.

Those are the ones I am/have been most excited for. What else am I missing? (It doesn't have to be just 2018.)

The one that sticks out the most to me is Extol.  It was 8 years between The Blueprint Dives and their self-titled album in 2013.  I was so excited for that when it came out...still a great album!

I’ve seen Ecthirion has new material to be released this December. The snippets on their website are awesome!!

So apparently Winterkou is back?!? Has anyone heard anything about this? The Unblack Archives just changed their status to "active" again though I haven't seen any official announcements or anything. I'm stoked because their one album is a real underrated gem IMO.

I got a little more clarification on Winterkou: I don't know whether they're "back" or not... BUT there exists an unreleased second album for which a proper release is coming! I'm stoked.
